This Rolex 16518 Daytona is a member of the second series of Daytona watches that were originally introduced in 1988.  Watches from this particular series included a Zenith “El Primero” self-winding movement that had been redesigned by Rolex to include 28,000VPH – a feature that created the perfect movement for the high speed world of professional racecar driving.  This reference 16518 features an eye-catching 18 karat yellow gold design with a Tachymeter engraved bezel that can be used to measure driving speeds of up to 250 mph.  The wearer can start, stop, and reset the subdials by clicking the side pushers.  The classic design of the sporty Daytona has won over Rolex enthusiasts throughout history, including the beloved actor Paul Newman who worn his favorite Daytona until his death in 2008.
